Three months after being hired as a React dev, I was named technical lead on the project. Our lead and project director, Christophe RAZAFIMAHATRATRA, had just left.
We were behind on the project and everyone was underwater. Overnight, I was the one organizing the team, running the technical meetings, and having to know the spec well enough to ask the client the right questions.
The hardest part was the daily meeting in French. I wasn't comfortable with the language yet, and it made me shy. But I told myself it was a chance to learn, so I went for it.
It's a gap I managed to cross, and it helped me a lot afterwards. I won't forget that challenge.
